The NYCDEP Newtown Creek Bending Weirs project includes the design of structures needed for the relief sewer, bending weirs and floatables control at selected regulators and outfalls in the Newtown Creek WWTP drainage area, located at four sites in Brooklyn and Queens, NY. Structural work at the four sites includes:
• Removal and reconstruction of partial roof structures for bending weir and baffle installation.
• Construction of equipment access hatches and observation manholes at bending weirs.
• Construction of a cast-in-place counterweight chamber with interior maintenance platforms and roof access hatches.
• Removal and reconstruction of sluice gates platforms and roof structure in Regulators.in Regulators.

YAS performed structural modifications to the Low Level and High Level Pump Station including concrete pedestals for piping and valves, installation of new resistor bank controllers, wound rotor motors, replacement of sump pumps and piping, constructing an overflow chamber from the High Level to the Low Level Wet well and installation of Raw Sewage Conduit and connection to the Flow Division Structure (FDS).
