The new four-story, 92,000 SF Science and Technology Building provides state-of-the-art facilities for the campus’ science programs and houses a mix of classrooms, offices, research and teaching laboratories, a greenhouse and an observatory. The structure includes a partial basement, 3 full floors and a reduced penthouse. This building will have an on grade link to Houghton Hall.

The structural system for the new building consists of steel framings with lightweight concrete floor slabs and includes a high efficiency curtain wall system and passive solar shading louvers. The new high-tech facility will achieve a LEED Gold certification. Construction was completed in July 2014 with a cost of $60 million.
