Phase I of the Hudson Hall project consisted of a two story addition which will incorporate materials from the existing building and will feature an atrium linking the pedestrian bridge to the pond centered landscape of the old campus. This new addition will hold chemistry class laboratories, chemistry research space and the Lake Champlain Research Institute. Completed in 2010.

Phase II involves an extensive renovation of the existing 82,000-square-foot science building and connection to the building constructed in Phase I. Changes include updated equipment as well as new teaching and research spaces. Renovation of the existing building was a challenge due to the limited floor to floor heights and a waffle slab. A new roof, windows, insulation and masonry work will also be included. 2012 completion date. YAS also participated in the initial program study of this project.
